Apexi ws damper coilover question.

So I just got some apexi ws damper coilovers from a friend who had them on his ej1. I have a 96 ex, and am wondering if they will work on my car.

Yes. They should fit. But since you already have them, just try them on.

Would I have to get another set of rear ones as a replacement?
Or is there a way to make them work at all?

i believe you will need the LCA bushings for a 92-95 civic to make the rears work correctly...

So what exactly do they do? And how exactly would it make them work?
(Don't mean to ask alot of questions, but I don't know much about cars)

The bushing on the 92-95 civics stick out further than the ones on the 96-00 models. So either get the bushings for a 92-95, or use polyurethane inserts to fill the gab for a proper fit. The little inserts usually come with coilovers labeled to fit all 92-00 civics.
