Im sure its a noob question but id like to know. I have been researching trubocharging and what i hear the most out of the bickering is that a low compression engine can handle a turbo better with less detonation. Then i hear that a higher compression engine can handle boost just not as much. example b18b 9:2 (i believe) with 20psi and a B18c 10:6 with 9psi ,but wouldnt that be about the same? Thats not the answer Im looking for just a side question what i really want to know is Ive heard you can take a higher C/R engine and change piston etc to lower Compression so that you may use more boost. Only probelm i see in that is wouldnt lowering your compression make you lose HP to begin with So your losing hp to gain boost which gives you hp arent we back at square 1?????????? For Give My Noobness.

no.. what you say does make sense but its not how it works. you dont lose much horsepower by going with lower compression pistons considering how much more boost you can hold if that makes sense
