backup/reversing lights will not work

The backup lights on my 2007 sedan do not work, I have the reversing sensors installed and they are working fine.

Here is what I have tried:

  • checked number 10 7.5A fuse for visual break and done continuity test on it
checked all other 7.5A fuses for visual break and done continuity test
checked the socket of one of the backup/reversing lights for voltage - no voltage
What could be the problem? Have I checked the right fuses?

I have found in posts that it could be the sensor on the transmition, but I am unsure where on the transmission the sensor is, how to get to it. And I assume the backup/reversing sensors would be triggered by this sensor too - if that is the case it cannot be the sensor.

When you locate the backup light switch, test whether it gets voltage.
