brake pedal

Hey guys on my 98 civic when going to press the brake pedal i do not feel the brakes interacting until i am about half way down the pedal. is there a way to make it so as soon as i start tapping the brake peddle it starts to brake or is this just a civic thing? In my old car it started to brake as soon as i touched the brake pedal so i was just concerned.

Bleed the brakes, see if you have any air in the lines.

I agree, bleed it then go from there.

but it doesnt feel spongy its more of a loose feeling. IS there a way to tighten the brake line? idk i will give that a try first i guess.

There is nothing to tighten unless you are referring to the e brake cables. Has nothing to do with the pedal which used fluid pressure to make the brakes work.
