Broken Strut Mount Bolt! Will this work?

Hi everyone!

I have a 96 ex coupe. I went to replace my rear struts, which were original with 160,xxx miles on them, and the bolt that holds the lower part of the strut to the control arm broke! I cut the strut out with grinder, but now I need to get the bolt and bushing out to replace it! I know there are alot of threads about how to do this but I have limited resources so I thought I'd run my idea by you guys to see if you think this will work.

I plan on drilling a hole big enough straight through the bushing big enough to get a hack saw through and cutting throught the rubber and outer metal sleeve! Think this will work? Also, I see that people burn them out but I would only be able to afford a cheap propane torch, Is this hot enough to do the job?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks guys!

Propane torch will be fine. I used one to burn the trailing arm bushings out.

No problem, would offer more but seems like you're on the right track.
