Car Misfires Under Accel

Well so here's the low down on the car before you asume things. I replaced the B7 it had with a rebuilt strong running B7. It was running bad when I put it but I played with the timing and got it running okay. I replaced the plugs, it had newer wires and I replaced the fuel filter this last month cause it was still misfiring under acceleration. I had water in the fuel filter and replaced it and I feels like their is water in the fuel filter again. My question is how? I did have water in the gas the first time I filled the car after swapping but I have filled up many times after that and still have that problem. But this last time I filled up it was just kind of jumping a bit or hestiating every so often when accelerating. BTW I do have a check engine light on and I am going to check that out hopefully this weekend and report back here.

Are my injectors dirty? Problem with the fuel system? Lean spike? Any help and experience with something like this is awesome.

It Sounds Like Water In The Fuel Man And Is There Filters Still In The Top Of The Injectors If So Clean Them And It Dont Sound Like A Lean Spike Just You Might Also Have A Ignitor Going Out Have You Messed With The Dizzy Lately

Where do u get your fuel? im a fuel specialist in the US ARMY and i know alot of gas station get the cheapest dirtiest fuel they can to save money. if u have water in ur tank from a time of filling up ur car your best bet is to drop the tank and drain 100% of the fuel and take a look in there and see if you can see any water if so u need to drie it out and refill with a better gas station LIKE QT or SHELL. Injectors could be bad also like the othe guy said clean the filter and see wat you get

Well this is a new fuel filter and I am thinking dirty injectors cause it makes obvious sense. I filled up at a Shell when this first started. After that I filled up at Esso regular and preminum to see if it made a difference, so far it has a little bit. But I will probably clean the fuel filter again when I check the check engine light this weekend. Draining the fuel system and cleaning sounds like a job that would take more than a day without a hoist.

Is it standard? Do you need to shift down?

It's a 5 speed stick shift. It usually 2nd and 3rd, but sometimes 1st also. 4th and 5th it will only do it if I need to downshift. As for the check engine light this is what I got: IAT (intake air temp), IAC (intake air control), MAP (manifold absolute pressure) and TPS (throttle position sensor). I kinda figured a few of these. Does this give you more info on what could be the problem?

yes sir you need to get a map sensor and see if you can either adjust your tps or if you adjust it ans still and engine light get a new tps and you should be set the iat sensor is not no where near as important as the map and tps so change those and see what it does....

unplug the tps and take it for a spin and see what it does. if it runs better, then it is the tps, sounds like what happened when it happened to mine. at least if it were the map sensor, it would be a lot easier to replace.

Oh believe when I fill up I usually don't have enough to make it home to work or vice versa. But oh well come tomorrow I am gonna play with the sensors and see where I get and hopefully somewhere on the brighter side of things. The TPS/IAC I am changing out from the other intake manifold I have from the swap and one thing where is the IAT sensor? Cause I work at a garage and have seen from many cars that the IAT is in the intake tube but no such thing on my Civic.

Well I swapped the throttle body (it was missing the MAP sensor) and still have the same problem. I am getting a MAP sensor hopefully tomorrow or Monday and see if that solves anything. Does anyone else know what could be the problem?

fuel injector cleaner and some dry gas to get the water out of those lines and tank.

Dry gas? Fuel injector cleaner, do you mean fuel injection you add to the gas? 'Cause I have done that once. Like I noticed this, when I have a full tank the misfire isn't there as much but when it reaches half or less thats when it starts and just gets worst.

check spark plug wires and plug holes for oil..
X2, It also sounds like you have water in the fuel. get a bottle of heat and poor it into the tank. This will help remove any water that may be in there.

just throw some heet in it to get rid of the water may take a tank or 2 but it will help

By heat do you guys mean gas line antifreeze or fuel system treatment? Something like the Lucas Fuel Treatment stuff?
