Clutch release question

I have a 97 civic dx swapped to a Y8.
When I push the clutch pedal to the floor to shift it, everything works fine. When I start releasing the clutch pedal the clutch engages only a few inches off the floor. I'd like the clutch engagement to be higher off the floor. Is there anything that might need replaced or can be done to make the engagement higher? My other car isn't like that.
