CV Joint ????

How do i know if i need to change the whole joint or just the boot?

If its clicking while going through a turn then replacing the axle is recommended. If not and the boot is torn then replace the boot and grease.

Well my gf car was doing the same thing and brought it to a shop. They changed the CV joints and it made all the difference in the world with her turning.

If you have no idea how long the boot has been torn, replace the axle. If it's only been torn a short time, it can probably safely be greased and re-booted. If it makes noise, replace it.

Changing axles just because offers no performance benefit if it's stock size for stock size, regardless of mileage... unless it's making noise near locks during turns.
