D16Z6 Will run off starter but wont stay running

Thought it was a bad Battery...replaced. Disconnected alternator, Still the same symptom. Checked all fuses none are blown. I can smell fuel. The car does start and run as long as I engage the starter, as soon as I stop turning the key the engine shuts off. Any ideas fellas?

This could be an issue with the ignition switch, or even main relay (I think).

Does the CEL stay on?

93 Civic. I can smell fuel and it does run and Engine will rev... It's like power goes away when the key goes to the run position.

Not sure what the problem was. Let it sit for a few hours... Came back to it and it started up just fine

That sounds like a faulty ignition switch.
