There is an ad in my city for a set of 4 rota slipstreams:

"
These rims and tires have only 3000km on them they were bought last year. they are in perfect shape.
15x7
Bronze

Falken 512 tires 90% tread.

205/50/15

$500.00 firm
"

To my understanding, the optimal tire size for a 99 Civic coupe is 195/55/15.
How much of a difference will there be with a tire of 205/50/15?

Should I check em out?

Keep in mind, I'm in Canada, so usually in order for me to get wheels I need to order from the US, which tacks on duty, brokerage fees, 13% taxes, and also an overall higher amount as a result of a lower CDN dollar.

^^^Sounds as if you made up your mind already...
Not entirely. I haven't even seen them yet, but I am thinking about checkin them out.

Like I said above, would a 205/50/15 tire be okay? I want to make sure before/if I check em out.

205/50-15 tires are fine, a lot of people get those. And BTW, no deal.

IMO they are too much. and I always wondered how people find out 90% / 25% / 80% tread? I looked at some rims, the guy said they had 80% tread and they were practically showing thread! 205/50/15 should be the same rolling radius as 195/55/15
