E-Brake button on a 93

I was going to replace the E-brake handle on my Civic but before I went and bought a new handle I thought I should get the old stuff off first to make sure I can do it, but I can't figure out how to get the button off, I already got the boot and old handle off.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Show some pictures. To the best of my knowledge, the handle and button are all one piece and difficult to separate, so I cant understand why you wouldve separated them if you're replacing the entire e-brake.
