Engine Nock in '96 DX

So I was driving to my house from a different city, when all of a sudden my engine started making a hard nocking noise at around 3k rpms. It would get louder and worse at higher rpm's. I was told from someone that it might be the main bearing. Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like a bad rod bearing. Did you let the engine oil run low?

No, I found out what it is. I have a bent valve. But since I have to get a new head should I just but a D16y8 head on it?

Nevermind, I found a bent valve yes but when i replaced the head it turns out that ronj was right unfortunatly and now my engine is just f**ked. Im getting another engine but im not to sure if i want to keep my current engine type or a B series
