I see it too. What happened with the first shot, looks to be over edited or something...

I can always upload the original and you guys can show me it's ability properly edited. Will have to wait till I get back home tho.

I know that shot is taken from a long distance and I zoomed in a bit and cropped.

I used a warming photofilter, some gradient masks with the use of soft light blend modes, some lens correction(vignette), hue/saturation changes, brightness/darkness changes

Probably the sof light blend of an inverted, blurred layer. Just a hunch,

For the edit, I just wacked out the brightness / contrast, duplicated layer, desaturated, inverted, and then gausian'ed it out to like 40. Then hit soft light overlay. Viola! Halo supreme.

I've figured out how to do it w/the software that came w/my cam but PS CS1 won't read my NEF files for some reason.

i work w/ raw every now and then, but usually i do fine just shooting the high quality jpegs

you have to get updates for the raw/nef crap. depending on what camera you have they wont have an update for your camera. i have CS2 and got an update for my xti but cs2 doesnt have an update for my 40D. you have to use cs4 to use the raw for the 5dmkii.

i stopped shooting in raw when i started having problems converting the edited raw images into jpegs, without losing the quality when i'd go to save them for online viewing....
