Going to 15" rim, what size tire do i need?

So, upgrading my 97 Ex from stock to a 15" rim. The stock tires are currently 65 series. Now, i was always taught that going up one inch in rim size meant you had to go down 5 on the series. So it seems like i would need a 60 series tire. The options the tire site are giving me are a 50 series and a 55. But all the sites default to a 50. Why is that?

Also, i don't want the car any lower than it is now. To go to one of my jobs i have to drive over a gravel lane and the speed-bumps here in town are murder. Also, i don't want my speedo to be off if i can help it.
So should i get the 50 or the 55 series? I'm leaning towards the 55, but figured i'd ask the folks "in the know" before i clicked "buy".

As you can see, your tire will only be 15.25 cm difference. I would go with which ever one is cheaper.
