Help fixing cigarette lighter (12v adapter) *PICS*

I took my cigarette lighter out of my dash awhile ago to power a touch screen. Now I'm returning my car back to stock and cant figure out how to put the cigarette lighter back in

And the dash piece it goes in

I've tried just forcing it in, but I dont think it will fit.

The outter peices unscrews from the cig lighter/power adapter. Put it thru the panel, and screw it back in. Its how its held inplace.
