I was thinking of doing some DIY hood spacers, and keep my bay temp down.. opened it up today after driving 20 miles and it was pretty warm for how cool of a day... what do you guys think??

my temp needle has crept up to about half.. thats too high for me... it used to be cooler before I started doing some actual big boy mods to the motor... now it runs a little hotter.. dunno it makes me nervous.

have you ever concidered some header wrap. i hear it keeps the bay really cool. try doing a radiator flush also, it gets rid of all that old fluid and gunk thak might be caked up.

first find out if actually overheating. if its not over heating then just let it be. if your worried then do whatever you have to to keep it cool.

Upgrade the rad? Maybe a thermostat that opens at a lower temperature than OEM?

:word:

just do some other mods to drop your temp like a the ones stated above. dont bother with hood spacers. the only reason you would need to use spacers is if your swapped engine just sits too high to close the hood otherwise.

yeah your best bet would definitely probably be a lower temp thermostat, and a racing radiator. higher velocity radiator fans wouldnt hurt either:cool:

I dunno my temp needle is around halfway...and I am fine with that. I run a thicker rad so even if you get a bigger rad, massive fans and whatever else, the car will still bring up the temp to where it normally sits.

I think they call it normal operating temperature.

And why spacers. Save the money, take a hammer to your hood and just mis-align it. It will look the same as spacers...
