hooking up vtec

Okay well my dad put a d15z1 in our cx hatch a couple years back. the vtec isnt hooked up and i want to know how to do it. is it just as simple as hooking up the ecu or what??

very simple. what year is the car. if its a 92 its that much easier


EDIT: nevermind, just saw you have a 95.

I believe EG's came with VTEC wires in the engine bay, I would double check though.

If not, you would need to run a wire from the VTEC solenoid next to the dizzy, to the ECU, then 2 wires from the VTEC Oil pressure switch to the ECU.

You would also need a VTEC ECU, I dont know what ECU's VTEC D15's have though.

you are partially right. that was my point with asking if it was a 92 or not. only 92 civics were wired from the ecu to the strut tower regardless if it had vtec or not. 93 and on were not.
