How to keep DREADED HONDA rear fender RUST at bay?

Best way to stop it or deture it, sand the inside of the lip down with some 180, clean it up really good and etch prime it then spray alot of undercoat in there. Then pull your interior plastics and pour transmission fluid down the inside of your quarters, unside of your trunk quarters, and in betweeen all the cracks. The transmission fluid will keep the water from resting in those spots. We do this on all the hondas we repair rust on and very very few of them come back. Usually the rust will come back because it is farther than you can see.

Ive found that if you actually pour POR 15, or SEM's RUST GUARD ( Im sure there's a million equivs) But let that sucker seep down, it etches itself and they guarentee it not to rust... ( Paint it on the back side of the qtr, and pour a lil out to allow it to seep down into the pinch welds.) Just a lil somethin' ive noticed in my experience... Ive had to do it to a few Cavaliers that rot down further on the qtr panel
