How to take off EGR?

I cant seem to get my socket wrench over the entire nut due to the top of the EGR. Should I move the fuel rail out of the way? any suggestions would be appreciated.

You need to start by entering your car information into the Garage feature at the top of the page.

Ok, Its been added. 1997 civic HX. Pretty sure its a d16y7 according to Jiffy Lube oil change receipts.

The 97 Civic HX comes with the D16Y5 engine, which is the only 6th generation engine to have an EGR system.

You might want to try an offset wrench.
