I need suggestions on an engine swap for a civic 1984 dx

hey im new to this forum
i was wondering what engine swap would be good for my 1984 civic dx??
i was told a b16a1 would fit but im not completly sure
if any of you guys know of any swaps that would fit my civic and at the same time stay legal in the state of california please let me know
suggest any ideas??

ps. my car currently has a ew1 1.5l 12 valve engine.

honestly...any engine will fit. but gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooogle is your best friend. search before starting a new thread please. anyways back on topic. all depends on what you want. b18 is a bigger engine than a b16 so can "easily" go faster but b16 are torquey. k series is the new fad and good platform for power. h series is an improvement. even j series (v6) are going into eg and ejs. whats your budget power goals and abilities also come into play.
