Identify this item!

Hello,

Can anybody tell me what this black thing is?
How its sitting on there is how it would mount to the stock manifold, then bolted to the fuel rail.
This is on a b16a2 BTW.

I relocated this thing to the under side of the manifold, and i only ask what it is because i just got a rywire harness and there doesnt seem to be a plug for this.

One end of it goes from that elbow to the charcoal canister under the battery, which isnt plugged in either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i had the same thing on my old intake manny...but that was on a d16y7...and it has that diff style intake manny...im not sure if u can use that 1..

Im just wondering if its needed at all, since the charcoal canister is not in use, im guessing this wont be either?

looks like an O2 or mass air flow sensor. idk

Looks like an EVAP purge solenoid adapted to a Skunk2 manifold to me.

IF you are still OBD2, then you need it.

I only placed it on the manifold like that for the picture, i didnt know what it was so i relocated it underneath the manifold.

But no, im OBD1, so i will assume i dont need it?

its a two wire ya? if so then its a solenoid. if its three wire, then its a 5 volt sensor, ie map, but it looks like a purge sol. to me. and ya, obd2 looks for that stuff.
