Installing new fog lights pls help!!!

i have got a set of fog lights from ebay, and installed them a couple days ago.. installation was a breeze except for the yellow wire you have to plug into the fuse box. i dont know which fuse connection it goes in.I connected it to one of the connection on the top of the actual fuse box and the lights started to smoke. the yellow wire was melted with the wires exposed.. can anyone help me out?

is the connector still good with wires coming out of it? if so just cut and re-solder the wires..i believe its the second one from the left..i havent installed foglights for a long time now but the instructions online should tell you as well..

yea it still good.. what slot did you conncet the fuse connection to?

Sounds like you F'd up. Probably smoked the bulbs when you shorted your wires out. Might have to buy another set and have someone who knows what he's doing wire it for you. Gotta learn somehow though! lol

2slo4u is right. its the second connector from the left. hope your lights are ok

As long as the wire itself isn't damaged, you can throw some electrical tape over it. Or if you want, cut the wire where it's exposed, throw some shrink tubing on there, solder it back together and heat up the shrink tube to get a nice tight seal and put electrical tape on top.

Couldn't you just tap any power source, like the cigarette lighter for example?
