iPods, External Harddrives, and iTunes....Eff YOU!

So I went to add the new My Darkest Days album to my iPod...and error. iTunes won't sync with my iPod. Did some research, deleted some files like some suggested, and bam. Still wont sync. Come to find out, I deleleted my library files, you know, the ones where they tell iTunes to look for my music library. Great.

All my music files are on an external drive, and since I got a 1 terabyte drive, why not copy them all over and use the external for backup purposes only. Great Idea. One thing...Windows doesnt recognize the 25gig of mucis I have. Wont copy, but I can play it. Go figure. So, after a few diagnostics, I can copy chunks of music over at at time. I started with the bottom of the alphabetical list, and moved up to the letter A. Come to find out, my Adema folder is corrputed. So after adding ALL my music back to my iTunes library, I have to delete the entire musical contents off my iPod and start over.

All this, after about 4-5 hours worth of work, just to put ONE album on my iPod. FML.

i HATE itunes. i now just use Google PLAY. upload all my music to their server and listen to it anywhere on my phone or wherever im logged in at.

Personally I love iTunes. I use it with last.fm to track all the songs I've played and such. I'm almost at 400000 plays since 2007!

my ipod is way out of date on music, because the computer that the library was built on got messed up and i wasnt around when it was fixed well the program deleted everything it dangerious. Guess 100,000 songs are dangerous cause i didnt have s**t when i got back.

I got rid of my iPod long ago because of issues like this. I use my Droid Incredible for music.

i never understood why apple didn't just set up the ipod to work as a mass media device, instead relying on their broken proprietary itunes crap. i just drag & drop files into my phone and i'm done.
