jdm d15b being a POOCH

heyy guys u know i swapped in my engine, i just got my surging problem fixed, it was a broken ground wire ;p

but now my next problem is my f**kin engine is a POOCH until it hits vtec then its got like 150 hp so idk whats wrong.

any ideas>

i thought the jdm d15b had 130bhp? try some injector cleaner or just a general service, see if that helps

Are you using the 3 stage Vtec solenoid?

no, i'm not, i'm using the 2 pronged one that came with my old engine because it didnt look like it fit right,

is that the prob?

Without the correct solenoid the engine will work only on 12 valves and then it will go on the hi cam profile without going to the 16 valve first. This puts a lot of stress on the valvetrain
