So me and my buddy known on clubcivic as ZACH246 just swaped his 1992 si with a gsr motor this weekend and were running the p28 ecu so the butterfly valves are always open is that bad for the motor? He's gonna get a p72 this week so just wondering how much power loss were getting and also we gotta wire the dizzy back to obd1 cuz the motor is a 1997. Thanks for any help.

You don't have to wire the distributor back to obd1, and he's losing some low end torque. The motor is going to be slower since he is running a p28. When you go to wire things up don't forget knock sensor and iab's.

yea, it wont hurt the motor at all having the IAB's open all the time, im running my h22 with them open all the time. no problems after 9 months like that, my car put down 153 wtq, with iab's disabled, i dont know what an H with them will do, but i doubt it's a huge loss.
