just wondering?

so i was driving the other day and some how i found out that i can get out of gear with out pushing on the clutch while i am driving,so what does this mean?any input would be helpful thanxs

you can shift without pushing in the clutch???

you can also shift this way, but if you dont know what youre doing, i wouldnt recommend it.

it doesnt hurt your car if your not grinding or jamming the gears. if they just slide in, yer good.

ive had this happen before. if you shift at the right rpm you can slide into gear without using your clutch and vise versa if you are already in gear.

my civic isn't manual. but when i had my eclipse i just applied a little pressure toward the gear you want get into and as the rpms started dropping it just slides into gear usually at 2500 rpm for me

cars usually have this as a safety feature. if something happens to go wrong and your engine breaks down, or your clutch commits suicide or something, it should come out of gear without the clutch. its so you can always get it into neutral no matter what is wrong with the car. as for going back into gear... i like my gears and use the clutch
