\\ loud BANG when i go over bumps...bumpstops??//

when i installed my omni coilovers, the instructions said to cut the factory bumpstops in half, which i did.

now, even fully lifted on my coils, if i go over a bump or manhole, a loud BANG happens...just from my fronts..

should i go to autozone or etc and replace my bumpstops? maybe some poly ones? is that what the noise is? that little metal plate that goes on the strut that the bumpstop sits on...is that not getting enough "stoppage" from my half bumpstop and banging against where the strut assembly meets the chassis on top?

I had the same problem so yea i went and got new bumpstops and havent had the problem since

the OMNI coilovers don't use stock shocks and bumpstops.
the OMNI sleeves however, do use stock shocks and thus shold have their bumpstops trimmed.

i get the same thing and my bump stops are cut in half and i have the sleeves.

I dont know what else to do

UPDATE

went to autozone for bumpstops, they had none and would have to order some.

me, being the impatient person i am, decided to rig something up.


I went to the HELP! section, and got two packs of shock/end sway bar link rubber bushings.
(got two just in case) and decided to see what happens

today was my only day off this week, so i HAD to do it today.

put the rubber pieces on, then slammed the car on the coilovers, no more knocking!!!!

worth a quick try. if it fails, i'll get real bumpstops.
