LS swap shifting problems

so i swapped an ls into my 92 hatch. i havent started it yet because im still waiting for some parts. i was putting back on my center console and shift knob and went to test for grinds.i realized in can move the shifter in gears and around the gearbox without pressing down the clutch. it also doesnt stay in gear..like i can just move it around and i can tap the shifter and itll get out of gear. im leaning towards a problem with my shift linkage..any help is appreciated

and its an ls hydro tranny..clutch is bled

yes you can do that when the car is off

idk..it jus feels weird..like it jus moves all around.,..doesnt necessarily alwatys stay in the gear...in my old cars it never really did that

I also did an auto/manual conversion.. same happens for me. I assumed it was normal. Although sometimes reverse pops out hah

well there is not any force on the main shaft in the tranny so when the car is off you can go through the gears

u have the b***h pin in the linkage right?

What did the linkage come out of, and is the shifter turned around backwards?
