Member Of The Month?

Dont know if this has been brought up before, or if it even has ever been done before. What about a 'member of the month'? Rewarding a different member each month for various reasons like being helpful to others, being informative, not starting any fights, ect. Each monthly winner could get a free month of premium member ship or something?

We used to do ride of the month.. but something happened and now its just "featured ride" which is picked by the "big dogs" and not voted on by everyone..

Im not talking about ride of the month. Not everyone wants to participate in ROTM. That shouldnt mean that people that are very informative and helpful shouldnt get recognition...

I like the idea... I think it would encourage people to be more helpful, but how would you suggest we go about picking this member of the month? That's the only roadblock I see... I think it would be very difficult to pick out a certain member that everybody agrees on.

Each mod could nominate say, 3 people they think have been more helpful and informative than others. Say theres 10 mods, so you have 30 members. Then all the mods go thru and narrow it down to 1 member that the majority agree's on. Kind of like a senate vote type deal. Whoever gets the most votes, wins for that month.

Could just add a counter icon next to the members name. if you think they have been helpfull, click it. At the end of the months see who has the most clicks.

Of course there would have to be a one click per member restriction, so someone isnt getting a click 100 times by the same person

I think this would become a popularity contest... I foresee people getting clicks for posting porn or flaming someone in a creative manner. lol.. Not sure this would work.

Either way, I brought it up in the Mod lounge and it has been a unanimous "no" so far. It was a good suggestion, but it just doesn't seem feasible at the moment.

I think the OGs would take it seriously, but the newer members wouldn't. Reputation would be other way around, I think newer members wouldn't abuse the reputation system because they'd give it for good stuff, OGs would probably just throw it around to be funny.
