modding rear OEM splash guards on 1998 ex to fix OEM rear lip

Hey everyone, If you look at the pictures below. I bought rear splash guards but they don't fit at all due to the rear lip. I had a grudge that was going to happen. So now i'm looking at either chopping some plastic out of the splash gaurds in order for it to fit properly....although even then it wont sit flat and flush along the fender i think.

Has anyone with the OEM lip or any aftermarket lip run into this issue? and what can i do to make it fit? Otherwise i'm selling these off.

I put the front splash guards on just fine but it looks dumb with just the fronts T______T

Just trim them in the neatest way possible so it doesn't look hacked up.
