need some suggestions, reallly bad mpg

I get better mpg when I set the cruise on the highway.

I get over 40mpg when I set my cruise @ 50mph.

so i found out that cruising at 70 saves helllla gas compared to rolling at 80 nonstop. id cruise at 60-65 no problem, but people like myself in the bay area ca, are always in a hurry
