New to the Honda game-98 Civic EX-Help

I just recently bought a 98 civic ex coupe, 5 speed, completely stock. At the moment its not running. (Needs battery and VSS). but once I have those things fixed, which will be soon, I plan on doing a swap. Now since this is going to be my daily, what would be the best motor to put in it that not going to be ridiculous fast for being a daily but still quick and fun to drive. B series, K series... etc... ??

I like K, but you have to have a bit deeper pockets than building a b-series. If you just want something with some spirit, b18c1 with bolt-ons and a tune. You'll make decent power without being really unreliable

B series is cheap and parts for days. all bolt on and easy to find. just my 2 cents.
