i have a civic '00 lx. i use it primarily for work now that gas is bad.:( i have the stock rims now 185/65/r14 i think. i'm thinking of getting 205/50/15 or 205/45/16. i want ride quality first, and just concerned that 15's will still look 'stock'. will there be a difference between these settings in terms of ride quality? can i go 205/50/16 w/o affecting the speedometer or braking? can someone post pics of their rides w/ these settings? i need help before father's day, or my wife might suprise me w/ new 14" rims and tires :( hahaha. thanks guys!

205/50R16 will probably rub and mess up speedometer readings. You may try 195/50R16

I like my 205/45/16 Falken Ziex 512 tires. No tbad..a bit more stiff because there is less side wall but...its not all that bad.

For 15's...i'd so go with 195/50/15

on 16 inch rims, the 205 40 16's will mess the speedometer up by about 4-5 mph
the 205 45 16 is what is recommended
but im rock'n 40 series cause im not a beefy tire kinda person

the first set of numbers are width the second set is sidewall and thrid is obviously rim size
the second number indicates the sidewall but it is not a straight forward measurement, the second number is the percentage of the width that the sidewall equals.

205/50/15, sidewall = 102.5mm
195/50/15, sidewall = 97.5mm

The correct size for a Civic with 15" rims is 195/55/15 (at least with 15" rims the same width as OEM rims)

My 205/50's looked beefy compared to the 195/50's

falken azenis rt 615's here. 215/45/16. an excellent tire and the tread life is pretty good. also really good for traction, unless you are me and they are still spinning going 55mph...

@ EJ6BALLER : i got a watch and a musical photo frame. why can't they just get us what we want?? a watch is fine but i'm attached to my old one. =) when they ask for a necklace, we don't give them a bracelet. oh well...
