When I was in the Fire Academy this past winter we had to do planking movements every day for PT. Our PT instructor would make us lay down then roll on our side and support our body weight with one hand, while our body was parallel with the ground.

Body had to be straight the entire time or else we would have to start over. Your hand/arm hurt afterwards cause we were on pavement.


Edit: It doesn't look like what I was talking about is the same in the video. Maybe there is different types of planking?

I think there is. People have their own style of planking.. but most do what you are talking about.
