Painted and mounting my rear lip(56k trespassing is a crime)

simple process, took me around 2 hrs.

I have another lip if anyone is interested

your suppose to paint in a well ventilated area like a garage, but my dog's hair can be a problem so I took a risk and tried it outside

320 grit sand paper,thinner, basecoat, clearcoat
make sure you paint very lightly, my hand was getting tired from the back and forth motion. dont worry if you dont paint everything on the 1st coat

1st coat

2nd coat
light sand after 1st coat. the stupid can broke and started drippin on the lip

I had to sand it down again to get rid of the bubbles

3rd coat

4th

B4 the clear coat , you want to wait an hr

Had to remove the rear tires in order to screw in the screws for the ends

now that the sides are up, I needed something strong that can hold up the middle. so I used zip ties
you can see the holes I made on the bumper and the lip

someone's gonna call it ghetto but it worked for me

haha i've got the same lip and haven't decided what i want to use to keep the middle up.. but idk if i'll be using zip ties haha. i'll keep it in mind

paint looks great but pics can be decieving. i just hope you didn't get too much dust and stuff in the paint when painting it outside like that.

I tried using the "import auto spray" Brilllant black but it broke when I started painting

so I used "truck,van, & suv" universal black

It doesnt give it that glossy look from the paint gun but im happy with it

I had the same problem on my rear lip, it sticks out a little where my exhaust comes out but its not bad. Might have to try zip ties. Good job, but your right it doesnt look as glossy as the rest of the car.

good job on the lip, i don't know if it was you, but i think u drove by me in miami yesterday, near that community Viscaia, i might be wrong, but car looked dam close to yours, blacked headlights, black shu's, 96-98 coupe......

i doubt u saw me, i'm in a silver sedan. tyc projectors, si rims 1" drop............... its in my sig. lol
