Problem or not???

So I was rollin down the street and my battery light came on. It dissappers when i am driving and comes back when the rpms drop to a stand still. But tonght on my way home i reallized onthe left side of my hood white smoke when would accelrate. I am not shire if it was a oil or coolant just really confused. But its a stock 91 hatch any help woud be much appreciated. Thanks

I would replace the battery and that should take care of your problem. Check to see if you're losing coolant. Do you smell coolant, or anything?

Check the belts, specifically the alternator belt.

Yea When i popped the hood i could see a little white smoke coming from somewhere. I could smell somthing like oil. Then when i went to the muffler it smelled like coolant maybe too. Got another question while im here. Now a days its been pretty cold but when i rev the engine it starts to pop or backfire when the rpmx drop wich i have no idea why??

Open your rad. cap, does it look oily? Do you have oil leaking anywhere in the engine bay? Maybe check the head gasket.

As far as the backfiring and whatnot. I would get the timing.
