yeah, im debating whether to keep the one that came with it which runs from the oil sending unit, or get the GE kit that uses the sandwich adapter. but yeah, once this thing is in an running and BROKEN IN lol i will have plenty of pics/videos

haha as far as setting up the motor, the ls/vtec conversion kit is easy. the tough part is getting an ECU and getting it tuned

1. using gsr cams cuz thats what came with the motor when i got it and so i already have them. it was milled i think just a few thousandths

2. yes you can use the c5 head on the b1 block......most people just don't cuz the type-r is so much more expensive

whew, good question. haven't really tallied it yet. i actually got the motor in a trade for a turbo kit i had, but i've pretty much torn it apart and rebuilt it and i've spent the following:

gasket set/ACL bearings: $70ish (may have been more, can't remember)
RS machine 81.5mm ITR pistons w/hastings rings: $150
machine work with clutch kit: $955
bronze valve guides: $60
teflon valve seals: $30
ITR valvetrain: $75
GSR water pump/tensioner: $60
ITR oil pump: $90
GSR honda timing belt: $60
ARP rod bolts: $30
Cometic headgasket: $90

To come:
GSR trans: $300
Axles: $70ish
ECU:$80-100
Jumper Harness: $100ish
Street tune: $125
SI radiator: $who knows
P30 ac bracket: $40

few more small things too.........its not cheap by any stretch

that's actually pretty crazy inexpensive comparitively!

i guess that's the advantage of building a Honda. MY toyota 20V 4A-GE is going to cost me ~$3k to rebuild. but that's with forged valves, forged pistons, crazy valve springs, some hefty head work, calico bearings, and some other craziness. all to make ~220HP out of a 1.6L and rev to 9500rpms.

my question was more why you didn't go with typeR or aftermarket cams. since it's going to need a tune anyway, why not pick up some bigger bumpsticks?

considering how little you've spent, it's going to be really interesting to see how much it makes on the dyno. freakin cool!
