yah the same thing happen to me just it was the middle nut it was so frustrating i end up using i have no idea what its called but you just hammer it onto the striped bolt its like a socket but has like teeth in it
tighten it until it breaks

gator grip hehe i hate that damn thing its only good for larger bolts i think, autozone sells specialized sockets for those bolts i had one that was completely round and got it out its an irwin tap socket i think.
