D17A1 and D17A2......whats the difference? Crower is manufacturing cams for the D17A1, would that by chance fit the D17A2?

Anyone...? Ha. If i had to guess, the D17A1 is still a 7th gen civic non SI. So i would imagine it would be the LX and DX models from 2001-2005. And the D17A2 would be the EX vTEC models. This confuses me because my engine says D17A2 on the engine block, but the vTEC is maintained in the head of the motor not the block. Grrr, also (if the D17A1 really is the non vtec LX and DX models) why would Crower manufacture cam gears and camshafts for the non vtec 7th gens.....?

crower makes them for the d17a2. d17a2 is a vtec motor. d17a1 isnt.
