99-00 is a direct fir, looks sweet no need for a lip in my opinion, kind of has a stock looking lip compared to the 96-98

They are different but are inter-changeable. The "lower lip" indent on the bumper is more pronounced on the 99-00.

You're wrong too. they are slightly different... but only at the bottom. The '99-'00 bumpers have a slight lip that comes out where on the '96-'98s it just curls under the bumper instead. This means that in the future you might have to modify '96-'98 lips to fit the rear bumper or just buy a '99-'00 rear lip, but generally speaking it won't be a problem. All '96-'00 bumpers of coupes/sedans bolt up to all other '96-'00 coupe and sedan rear ends. The hatches are interchangeable on those years too, but do not fit the coupe or sedan bodies.

I need to get some comparison shots of these differences someday.
