So my friend wanted a Si like mine after he saw and drove mine. He found one that is completely stock and still loves the way it rides and feels. However, he went to check the oil yesterday in his garage and he noticed a slight smell of fuel on his oil? Any ideas to what this may be fellas?

Is he sure it's coming from the oil and not it being couped up in the garage?

Nope he said it's the Oil he saved the bounty paper towel he checked the oil with and gave it to me to smell the oil and I smelt it like a slight fuel smell also. I have no idea.

that's what my b16 did about 5k miles before i had to do a block swap from burnout piston rings

just do the compression check and let us know what it turns up

Okay like if I knew how to do that lol and he just started in the Honda world. How would we do a compression check A and B I heard of a wet compression check with a teaspoon of oil in the chamber and turn the motor.

I have an idea but let's see if I'm right

Dry comp test

1. disconnect all wires to the plugs.
2. remove all plugs
3. screw in compression check device
4. turn ignition and read dial for messure of compression in that cylinder.

Wet comp test repeat steps 1-4 but before you turn ignition insert a teaspoon of motor oil in the chamber?

I could be wrong but this is what this forum is for advice and suggestions.

Sounds like leaking injectors.
Is his car hard to start when still hot but set for several minutes?
That wouldl be 1 sympton.
Hook up a fuel pressure gage and watch it after the engine is shut off,
it should hold pressure.

It's not likely to get gas in the oil while it's running,
even with low compression, the fuel would be burned.
Unless you had so much fuel dumped in it couldn't burn it all,
if that were the case it would be putting out clouds of black smoke.

Yeah clouds of black smoke when he get's up there like 6000-7000rpm. Or if he floors it you see black smoke. So it could be his injectors ?
