Question for RONJ

Hey man u kno alot bout civic so I was wondering ifu could help me out?
So my car idles from about 1400-2500 goin up and down after car warms up
wen warming up it sit at about 2500

but yea it's a del sol motor b16a3 in my 97 civc
have the ecu chipped for it
I tried cleaning the iacv and fitv
also beelding the system nothing
it's throwing a cel for the coolant temp sensor
could that be it??

yes that could be it the coolant temperature sensor can also affect the idle....if its bad then the sensor will think its cold i supposed and when its cold it idles a little high....(could be put in better words but yea....)
correct me if im wrong RonJ :D

make sure when replace the coolant temperature sensor you drain the coolant(unless you replace it with the quickness which is what i did :D have some towels at hand though..)

Ok I did it an check engine light is gone!!
Doesn't idel well at least not yet lol
but sits it 1500 now after engine is warm

check for small vacuum leaks... most will give you a fluctuating idle but some (especially smaller lines, like a vacuum line to the cruise control, for example), will just surge your idle a bit..

so it doesnt surge up and down anymore? if you cleaned the iacv and fitv and bled coolant then i would say adjusting the idle screw is next on the list?

Yea I'm check for vacuum leaks and the idle screw
and yea stopped surgingup and down

i kno rite that sucks
