Radio headunit humming, 2000 EX

Hello, I recently installed a touchscreen headunit in my 2000 EX, but ever since then I've had a faint electrical him coming from the speakers. I've done some reading and I'm guessing it's a grounding problem, but I'm not quite sure how to fix it.
Three hints:
-the hum doesn't change with volume
-it doesn't change with RPMs, it's present in radio mode too, so it's not my aux cord

My questions:
There are some metal bracket plates behind the radio for structure, should I try grounding to that instead of using the harness ground?

Where is the harness ground located so I can maybe hit it with a wire brush and WD-40?

Thanks for any help

Detail your installation. Otherwise, members are left guessing.
It was a radio harness to factory harness installation.

I soldered each connection and then electrical taped around the exposed wires to protect it

Interesting update though; I was playing with the ground connection between the two harnesses, and I discovered that once the radio is on the ground wires no longer need to be connected. In fact, if they are disconnected when the car is turned on, just a tap of the wires is enough to make it completely functional
