Rear clunking noise

I installed new shocks last night and now there is a "clunking" kind of noise coming from the rear pasenger side. Its basically if the car bounces this noise occurs.

My brother told me to take a look at tightening the middle bolt at the top of the shock, because he had that problem on his old car and he just needed to tighten them a bit.

So I go check it out and realize that I didnt put the washer back before the nut, could this be the reason for the noise? I had to go to work so I havent had time to place the washer back on the car ... so I wanted to get some opinions.

Thanks in advance.

trial and error :-)

good luck with the installation, i guess this is common with all aftermarket suspensions ... something or the other goes wrong at times .... happened to my friend with his ground control installation (O-ring).
