Remove Wiper Arms

Maybe I'm being dumb here... I didn't spend too long on it because it was night when I was trying to do it, but I couldn't remove the wiper arms on my EJ8. I twisted off the lug on top of one of them, but it still wouldn't pull off. Maybe mine are just stuck? Or is there something else I have to do to detach them? I'm wondering because mine really need a paint job.

Push down on the pivot point on the wiper arm (where it bends when you flip them up)
do that a couple times, usually loosens up the splines.
and you have to make sure you are taking it off square to the splines

yea, also make sure they're not hitting the hood.

yeah they should just pull right out once you pop em off. gotta pull em towards the wiper motor they wont go the other way.

Yeah, I know. The pre-painting stuff is possibly even more important than how you paint them. Thanks for the tip, I'll make sure to do that.
