Hello,
I have recently cleanep up my O2 sensor, due to abnormally low mpg, and so far it seems to have worked, the motor itslef seems to feel livelier

after a couple days i took to sensor out again to check it and the black residue has covered about a thrid of a sensor.

the question is is that normal or do i have to change something aditional

i have a 99 ek3 d15z6

thats normal every car gets like that, your exhaust gases passes through. so its like being put into a furnace every time you start the car

Yep, it will turn black after a short amount of time. There shouldn't be any build-up or gunk on it, but it should turn black in color from the exhaust gases.
