reverse lights stay on

I have this problem with my daily driver that the reverse lights stay on all the time but they are really dim. They both do this and its kinda crazy. What would cause this? Its a 00 civic coupe with an auto transmission.

check your fuses and your wires in the the trunk.

are ur brake lights or turn signals dimmer than normal? if so, you probably got a short from the dim light (brake or turn) to ur reverse lights

no the brake lights and turn signals are fine

are they on while the car is off or just when you're driving around? sounds like a fuse problem honestly

I heard about this problem with automatics before. I think its something to do with the sensor in the center shift console still thinking its in reverse when its obviously not. Idk any details but I hope that helps.
