Rotor Noise

Well, after struggling to lower my car because of dirt clogged in the threads, I drive down the road and hear something grinding. I turn back and head home, jack up the car and turn my passenger side front wheel. It mades a sound that is like metal grinding on metal. I take the wheel off and spin the wheel studs and the same noise occurs. I fiddle with the caliper and it seems as if the rotor is rubbing against either the brake shield behind the rotor or the caliper itself due to poop brake pads. It also seems as if I can move my rotors a full 1/4" back and forth.

I'm unsure of how to approach this problem and it is literally, making me stressed out to the max.

Please help.

Sometimes rocks get in between the rotor and the dust shield. Might wanna check that...
