rust on cylinder walls

my buddy gave me a b18b block and it has rust on the cylinder walls
so my question is wats the best way to remove the rust?
it has the most on cylinder 2...1, 3 and 4 are ok not compared to cylinder 2...
if i hone the cylinder will it come off....
if anyone got ideas plz let me kno thanks in advance

It will if its just surface rust but if its pitted it probably wont come off.

ok i understand yesterday i got a little bit of sand paper oiled up the wall and sanded a little and it came off

Sanding by hand to get the rust off just as you did is ok but honing will still be necessary for proper ring lubrication.

I'm not sure for B-series but for D's it's a 60° cross pattern you want.

well i jus sanded a lil bit off to see how bad the rust was and yea imma have to make sure of the pattern needed
