Ok, Ive made this post before and never really gotten a straight answer, so Ill try again. Feel free to bash me for repeating myelf.

Ive got a 92 civic dx and when I go to stop at a red light (or any stop while in drive) it jerks/shakes forward and back. Its not a brakes problem its the motor literally jerking forward and back. Its really embarassing, but what I do is pop it in N and roll into the stop light and it goes away. It dosnt do it in N, it shakes a little in P but it REALLY shakes in D4 or D3. Im pretty sure its something to do with the gears.

So far Ive...

  • Checked motor mounts
  • Gave it an oil change
  • Got new plugs
  • Got new wires
What else can I do to help fix this. Thanks for your help! :P

sounds tranny related. my guess would be the torque converter is wearing out, or maybe one of your clutch packs.
